Bruno Côté was born in Quebec City in August 1940. His parents were involved in the art community and strongly supported his artistic interests. The family owned a prominent public relations business and he worked there for 20 years. In 1978 he moved to Baie Saint Paul, where he held his first important exhibition. He travelled extensively in Canada and painted many different landscapes, however, his main focus was on the Charlevoix region. In 2008, the Parliament of Canada gifted Côté’s “The Portage Trail” to the Scottish Parliament, to mark its opening. He died in Baie Saint Paul in 1970 of prostate cancer.
