Canadian artist Kyle Sorensen is best known for his rich portrayal of landscapes through the lens of geometric abstraction. Resonating with the Cubists, as well as the language of hard edge painting, Sorensen’s fractured acrylic landscapes are a fresh approach to traditional landscape painting. Inspired by the vast beauty of Northern Ontario and the waters of Georgian Bay, Kyle’s work focuses on dissecting these three dimensional landmasses into their simplest two dimensional form through the use of bold colours and razor sharp transitions. Sorensen’s work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and venues in Canada since his first solo exhibition in 2013.
